AJ Jerri is most recognized for his contributions to Shannon Sampling Theory, It's Generalizations, Error Analysis, and Historical Reviews, and in particular his establishment in 2002 of the journal Sampling Theory in Signal and Image Processing (STSIP-ISSN 1530-6429) with over thirty top international experts as its editors, besides establishing its Sampling Publishing, also his contribution to the general understanding of the Gibbs Phenomenon, where he wrote the first book ever on the subject, published by Springer-Verlag, then he followed it by editing another book on Advances in Gibbs Phenomenon published by Sampling Publishing.
Dr. Abdul Jabbar Jerri, born July 20, 1932 in Maimouna, Iraq. Jerri is a Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York, 13677 and is currently residing in Raleigh, NC. Dr. Jerri is the author of numerous books and publications in mathematics, including: Integral Equations, Integral and Discrete Transforms, The Gibbs Phenomenon, Difference Equations, and Wavelets. Jerri has published a number of papers close to the subjects of his books, notably, his well received tutorial on Shannon Sampling Theory published by invitation by the IEEE in 1977. He is recognized in the area of Shannon Sampling Theorem, and is the founding executive editor of the journal, Sampling Theory in Signal and Image Processing (STSIP - website: www.stsip.org ), which is in its 13th year and in very good standing.
Dr. Jerri’s fruitful career includes visiting positions at the American University in Cairo, establishing the study programs in Mathematics and Computer Science (1972-74), and at Kuwait University (1979-80), as Director of the Mathematics Study Program. He is a double-awarded Fulbright Scholar for the Projects of Lecturing Integral & Discrete Transforms, Integral & Difference Equations, Methods of Applied Math, and Sampling Theory, at the Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman in 1997, followed by Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan in 2001. To date, Dr. Jerri remains highly active in the industry; as Founding Executive Editor of Sampling Theory in Signal and Image Processing - An International Journal, and the Executive Editor of Sampling Publishing.
Jerri has authored several influential books that have been widely used in academia. Many of Jerri's books can be found on Amazon, providing valuable resources for students and researchers worldwide:
In addition to these books, he has published over forty research papers in esteemed journals and delivered numerous lectures at national and international conferences. His publications have played a crucial role in advancing understanding in various fields of mathematics.

Jerri was instrumental in establishing the SAMPTA (Sampling Theory and Applications) Workshops, which have been held biennially since 1995. These workshops have taken place in various countries, including Latvia, Portugal, Norway, the United States, Austria, Turkey, Greece, France, Singapore, Germany, and Estonia. These events have provided platforms for researchers to share advancements and innovations in sampling theory
